Cherupushpa Mission League

Cherupushpa Mission League (CML) was established in 2015, under the leadership of Jimmichen Mulavana. Various Projects were coordinated since CML’s existence such as Toy Drive for Thakela Kids, Easter Baskets for people in need, as well as Christmas Food Drive for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank in which we collected over 2016 pounds of food and $600.

We have over 100 members, comprised primarily by altar servers. Our mission statement is to help our community through charitable actions to make the world a better tomorrow by following the word of God

St. Vincent de Paul Society

“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did it for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

The mission of St. Vincent de Paul Society (SSVDP) at our parish is to assist all the parishioners to increase awareness and empathy to the needs of the “least ones”, and help them as required. We help many patients, students and other poor people, who are in desperate need of help, with the financial and physical support of our parishioners.

Please continue to support the activities of SSVDP, to help the “least brothers” of our Lord Jesus. Our activities also include various fundraising drives, blood donation drive, food sale, toys/religious items sale and other social outreach events. If you have any special celebrations in your family, please consider donating a small portion of it to us. If you personally know someone who is in desperate need of our help, please let us know, so that we, as a catholic community show our mercy and love to them.

St. Alphonsa Youth

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12)

Today’s youth are defined as tomorrows future. The generation who will lead the church, our church, in the coming days. Currently, there are over 50 of us, the youth, aged 15-36, in our parish. Under the leadership of Jijo Puthiakunnel, Jojy Job, and Minu Pottukulam, the numbers increase every year. Some youth go on to become CCD teachers, take leadership in church organizations aiding alongside the community to fulfill church related responsibilities. lOur mission statement is to guide the young generation into the Christian life through daily prayer, meditation, and reflection by following God’s plan for us.

Syro-Malabar Catholic Church is one of the most ancient Eastern Christian communities in the universal Church. It's origin is traced to St. Thomas the Apostle who preached Good News in Kerala, India. Although the arrival of Western missionaries was a land mark in the history of church in India,it was with Vatican II that there was a real awakening in the Syro-Malabar Church. This resulted in the sincere search for the church's lost identity as an Apostolic and Eastern Church. The most remarkable achievement was the establishment of new missions in different parts of India in which missionaries were sent all over the world. Thus, the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar diocese was established on July 1, 2001, the first Syro—Malabar diocese in a foreign country. It encompasses the entire United States of America and has its headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.

Saint Alphonsa Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, Los Angeles is one of many missions located in America, under the guidance of the diocese. Saint Alphonsa who is popularly known as Passion Flower, Little Flower of the East and other titles, is its patroness. A novena in honor of her is prayed at 7 pm every Friday in our church, following adoration and mass. We cordially invite anybody who seeks favors from God and who wishes to thank God for the favors received. Through the grace of God, on February 3, 2018, we were blessed with an amazing facility comprised of a church with a capacity to seat over 500 people, with 36 classrooms for weekly CCD instruction, a wonderful state of the art hall, and a chapel for silent adoration.
